Hi Vlad,Since you're stuck with mobile operation, invest in a better antenna. Hustlers and Ham Sticks are reasonably priced and they are resonant so no tuner is required. Screw Driver antennas are multi-band but more expensive.I used a Hustler for decades with great results.DX Engineering can advise you or you might find something at a hamfest.Later,Joe, K8MP-----Original Message-----From: Vlad III vvegaiii-/[email protected] [FT100] >To: FT100 >Sent: Mon, Mar 4, 2019 01:27 AMSubject: [FT100] Needing portable tuner for my 100D...

Hi guys,I would like a tuner to get into HF with my rig.  I have a mobile antenna, I believe 48" tall.  I know mobile is not ideal, but I'd like to go park atop one of the San Bernardino mountains (or close enough) and play a bit. I'm looking at the MFJ-939Y--compact, for on-the-road and at home (don't have a shack, so nothing too fancy or expensive).  Is this a good tuner? and, is getting one at under list price possible ($149.99)?  Been looking...Any other pertinent info/questions are welcome. :)  Appreciatively,VladKV9JUL
