Doug,
Nice to know!  Wondering if you have a diagram for RF input circuit, where the RF signal amplitude (strength) is calculated and displayed. I'd like to pick that off and get a better reading/display if signal strength. Wondering also where the X10 attenuator is switched in too.
 
Any information would be great!

The FM Detector IC is the TA31136FN.  Pin 9 is the AF output.  A
datasheet can be found here:

Hope this helps.  If not, I have a service manual and can look up the
information you need.
