Get the PCI serial card if you can as it will be more reliable than a USB 
adaptor. However the USB adaptor will be ok, as lomg as you choose the right 
one! Some don't work with programming interfaces for some reason. The Belkin 
F5U109 (called a PDA adaptor for some reason) works ok for me on my almost 3 
years old Acer laptop.
