TK500 and MS XP

I remember this being discussed at several points in the past, but not 
recently. I finally invested in a new laptop running XP and now need to 
reinstall Bob Parnass's TK500 on it for use with my VR-500 away from home.

The laptop is a Gateway, but has no DB9 connector. What do I need to 
make things work with my new computer, assuming this is possible?
