New Batteries and yes I also used an external power supply. I disassembled the radio looked for cold solder joints and any cracks in the circuit board and found none. I purchased this radio knowing that it was broken and hope to fix it but now I'm thinking that the main CPU has been voltage spiked. I just gave it to a Technician to see what he coms up with and I went to AES and bought a new one for 200.00. Thanks for you reply.
