Hi,

 

This is what I do and those 2 batteries NEVER come out of the radio. When they do it will be because they are had it. 

It's the simplest system and it works!

Both of those ways require damaging the battery, and leaving you with a questionable unsafe battery you may want to use in another device, depending on other metal objects in those other devices.

Plus, you are limiting yourself then to only 'certain batteries', that you can then use.
