I had the display in mine replaced by Yaesu about two years ago. Total
cost was about $125. Worked great for about six months, and now this
replacement display is just as bad as the one that was replaced. I am a
bit miffed about that, esp. since my VR-500 doesn't see any hard use; it
sits on the bed headboard most of the time and I take it to monitor local
traffic when traveling.
