Earphone socket

Hi all. My earphone socket has become very hit-and-miss in making contact. Tried electrical contact spray on it, but looks like it needs resoldering. 
Has anybody tried this out and what would the dismantlling process. 
Don't seem to able to access any service manuals, failing that will have to return to Vertex at Winchester.
