What exactly leads you to believe that your VR-500 needs a new display? I don't know if the problem was addressed by Yaesu. But there is a well documented issue with the display showing odd things after the unit shut it self off due to dead batteries. The solution may be as simple as a full reset of the cpu. I suggest going into the groups archives and reading a few threads on the subject. Ie. Display getting weird and double line in bandscope (Sept 2003) and Funky display (June 2008). There may be others, I just did a quick scan of my VR-500 folder. Radio works but display needs to be replaced. What would be the least expensive route to take to accomplish this. Thanks for your help.
