Instead of allowing the user to break out of scanning and do an ord= erly shutdown, it denies the user this opportunity and enters a loop where = the radio display flashes and the warning beep sounds and the current taken= by the radio spikes causing the battery voltage to droop. When the rig fin= ally does shut down, the battery voltage will have several times reached th= e point where the scanner corrupts it's EEPROM and the errant display occur= s when fresh batteries are installed. The bandscope displays also start be= having oddly and one or more memory contents are corrupted. I've had this = happen so many times now that I always keep a current copy of the memories = and bandplans, and do a full reset before uploading everything again. It's = a bit of a nuisance, but doesn't take too long.
