yup thanks for the input,i guess I will just setup a little 12 volt nicad back up and see how that performs when the main power is disconnected,one could do a amp check and see what its drawing when merely turned off.clock workin or not workin is not that important I guess but one would think that if the memories can be stored and kept..then a simple clock memory could be added..oh well thats yaesu for ya..thanks
