Hi David, sorry about that - got called away. If you have the squelch turned fully counterclockwise, I'm surprised you received anything at all. Turn it clockwise until you hear the background noise, then back a bit until it stops. This is the most sensitive point with breaking the squelch and stopping the scan. I'm actually surprised that you can kill the audio output on AM broadcast band with the squelch control set to min. Now I use FTBVR5K to just catalogue and organise my memory locations. Works a treat.
