Good question... Well it will start scanning at the frequency you have receiver set to and will stop scanning when the indicating bars reach the end of the display or until it is stopped manually.  I didn't code a 'repeated' scan into the software because I haven't heard from users if this was a needed.

If this sounds like something I need to add to the software. I may add it at a later point in time.
