I want to know if there selling this LCD to replace this missing two vertical lines in the region of the clock. With this LCD available, at what cost. However, along with the lines, the display is growing dimmer. I'm ordering the new software. _____ From: [email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> [mailto:[email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> ] On Behalf Of majoco21 Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 7:12 PM To: [email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> Subject: Re: RES: [YaesuVR-5000] LCD lines Hi, Plenty of previous posts on this issue. I drilled the top and bottom case halves to reduce the temperature which it has done, but no change in the missing lines, both vertical and horizontal. I began to suspect the 100uF capacitor on the back of the display board (which in my receiver is parallelled by a 22000uF) and removed both of them and temporarily fitted a new 22000uF but that made no difference. It seems strange that if the powere is removed for a few days, the number of bad lines is increased but slowly reverts back to a stubborn few - today I have only two verticals missing which go through the 'tens' of the channel number. I guess I'll just live with it, or try the new software. --- In [email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> , "Richard Gerhke" <gerhke@...> wrote: > > Hello > My VR5000 is also introducing LCD failure, is missing a vertical line in the > central region of the last character of the clock. > Sera that Yaesu have this lcd for sale, I see that we are not alone with > this defect, thequote is found on the internet concerning this problem. > It no longer as of old equipment. > > > > Richard Gerhke > > <http://www.gerhke.com> www.gerhke.com > > Brazil > > > > De: [email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> [mailto:[email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> ] Em > nome de nisangreenwich > Enviada em: domingo, 14 de agosto de 2011 11:59 > Para: [email protected] <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> <mailto:YaesuVR-5000%40yahoogroups.com> > Assunto: [YaesuVR-5000] LCD lines > > > > > > Hi guys, > > I have an older vr-5000 which has developed loss of vertical LCD lines.
