Thanks Martin. I now have an older PC in the shack and 
will try it soon; IF I can get the software moved to it. I'll report to the group as I think that software is 
going to be the best way to get the job done

KE7ATE's programme runs just fine on my older Dell laptop running Windoze XP - try it on another machine. I use a USB to serial cable and that works OK but I know that some of those 'adaptors' are a bit flakey. Ken is very busy and often takes a while to respond but he will in the end.
