Actually none as I really only use it for "local public safety" and monitoring local maritime & airport traffic. Also occasionally local Ham repeaters. Your pre-selector idea would be useful if i had interest in using the VR5000 for HF monitoring. I started out with a MFJ-956 and currently use a Palstar 1130. Both have been modified - I changed connectors to BNCs and wired low-loss coax to the Bypass switches so that there is negligible loss on W/Uhf when in bypass mode (A vital necessity when using these with a Wideband RCVR such as the VR5000). Also changed the LW and BC inductors to higher-Q coils for a little sharper tuning. Best preselector I have used so far was a Lowe PR-150, VERY sharp tuning (what we want) but otherwise poor performance on LW. 73's Leonard :) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
