MW / SW Reception.

Hi to all in the group.
 

 My name is Paul and I'm a new member.
 

 I'm looking into changing my portable shortwave receiver for something different, I quite like the idea of a receiver that offers all the bands and modes that I like in a single compact unit, The Yeasu VR5000 certainly looks impressive that seemingly offers everything that I could ever possibly want to listen to, even has DSP.
 

 * Can anybody please advise me on the performance of the MW / SW bands in general.
    What can I expect from it.
 

 I personally wouldn't expect the rig to be a stellar performer but as a keen MW DXer, could this rig still offer something reasonable on the MW SW bands ?
 

 My current portable is the Sangean ATS 909 / External Wellbrook Loop.
