A display with 20% gone can be very hard to read, plus it is likely
to get worse. I sent a similar one back to Yaesu for repair, and
they wanted something close to $500 to repair, and that was more than
8 years ago. They probably don't even have parts to repair now.
Mine is now worse, probably only 60%, and I can't read much of
anything on the screen.
I've tried re-seating the ribbon cables to no avail. Anyway, I
think that can be a serious issue.
