I hope it's not beyond repair! You might want to read this thread (if
YoHaa does not muck it up as usual):

Maybe you can find parted out boards to replace the one(s) that got
damaged.
In any event, DO NOT BOTHER REPLACING IT. Just remove it and leave it
out. I've spent quite a bit of time(too much) analyzing the circuit, and
there's no way it would provide any hold up for more than a few minutes.
In a power outage, or in storage much longer than that, it will not do
what it was intended to do anyway, which is ONLY to keep the time clock
going. Later serial numbers do not even have one, so you have to reset
the time whenever power goes out anyway. I do not know at what point
they gave up on the idea. I will be posting a more thorough explanation
about this eventually.
Meanwhile, I also remember seeing somewhere a resistor change mod to
improve the dimming of the back-light from landing light to night light.
Could someone remind me where I saw it please?
