I have to disagree Bob.

Per the manual as downloaded from the FCC site:

Change SET menu item #19 to CONTINUE and the Smart Search will continue to
search until all the memories are filled.  The default value is SINGLE, thus
only a single sweep.

I don't have the radio with me to check personally (and I only have used
Smart Search a very few times) but I'm quite sure this is correct.
