Thanks for your answer. Regarding the r5 :

I hate the slow scan speed, and the inability to choose what banks to 
scan, and i also dislike antenna sma connector.

Apart from that, i love it. It is very sensitive, and picks up 
signals much better than the VR-120 in most areas.
It is also very resistant against interference from broadcast radio 
stations.

Here in Sweden we are listening mostly on police/rescue around 79 MHz 
and wireless phones on 959 MHz, and the r5 beats the vr-120 on both, 
and with margin.

If the r5 had BNC, faster scanning, and bank linking it would be 
perfect.
