We use a Omega Temp/Humidity chart recorder and use the alarm contact closure. Connected to 
a serial port on our paging server, a simple C program can monitor/page for an alarm condition.

Sort of a throw-back into the days of home-brew electronics, but works well and we didn't have 
to purchase anything additional....
