aspirin titration .. problem

Hi lads i am new on here hope ye can help 
after synthesizing A-S-A
we went to test the purity we used methanol to disolve the crystals before titrating it with NaOH followed by HCL . it all worked fine except the calculations have gone astray . 
could this be due to using the methanol 
this is my first indirect titration and im kinda lost .
the iron chloride test was clear on both ethanol and bicarbonate purification techniques .but im not sure about the proper equation to use the Va Ma Vb Mb does not work out . 
any help would be great thanks
