The German submarine, U-505, that was captured on June 6,1944 and ultimately displayed outside the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry has been closed for several months. In the interest of preservation it's now been moved to an underground, climate-controlled space. A new exhibit is scheduled to open "in Spring 2005". The $35-million dollar, 35 000-square-foot exhibit will include one of the two Enigma machines captured from the boat. For more information visit www.msichicago.org/exhibit/U505.
