At the bottom is an excerpt from a BP Trust press release from today: http://www.bletchleypark.org.uk/page.cfm?PageID=226&NewsID=103 Is this new? Last I heard (Andy Clark, a couple of days ago while watching the CRYPTO 2005 webcast), the trust was planning to sell off H Block to developers and instigate a potentially-damaging relocation of the Colossus rebuild. -- Matt ------------------------- The room in Block H that contains a rebuilt version of the Colossus computer will be preserved. The rebuild, a project led by Tony Sale and a team of dedicated volunteers for almost 15 years, will remain in situ and will be viewable by heritage and other visitors to Bletchley Park, provided that revenue-generating activities such as income from visits, conferences, rentals and the like can be found to meet the sites considerable running costs. Bletchley Park Director Christine Large said, The Trust has Bletchley Parks history at its heart and thanks the Deputy Prime Ministers Office for making this capital grant to help boost Bletchley Parks regeneration. We are particularly glad to be able to offer Tony Sale and his team, who have worked long and hard on this magnificent rebuild, the opportunity of remaining in an historically important location as part of the Trusts operation.
