Steve and all others who are interested.

The announcement is basically correct but was made by both parties
without our Bombe Rebuild team's knowledge or involvement. Therefore the
timing is not what our team would have wished for.

It is slightly premature and has somewhat upset the timing of the
announcement we had intended to make in the near future.

The current position is that we now have nothing of any significance
missing to start limited system testing.

I hasten to add that this will initially be using just one bank of the
three. What this means is that we will use one set of drums (5 x 12) on
one menu through to one set of 26 sense relays. This means that when
commissioned the machine will be capable of running real work albeit
only one wheel order at a time. The rest of the sense relays are well on
the way to being complete and might all be fitted in about 2 months
time. A second bank of drums is also close to completion but the full
compliment is not expected until well into 2006. However by restricting
the wheel order combinations full three bank running should be possible
in the late spring of next year.

In addition the new checking machine is well advanced and should be
available when required to check genuine stops.

Our original intention was to get to the point where any remaining small
shortages were sorted out and initial adjustments had been completed
before 'telling the world'. Then we could say that full system testing,
as I say on just one bank, has genuinely started. It is hard to predict
when this will be but it is only weeks away. When we do reach this point
I will let people know and soon after, hopefully, I will have time to
bring out WEB site fully up to date.

Regards to all
