Earlier this year the gift of an ETCRRM was made to BP. David White and I completed a display case alongside our others in B Block - and ETCRRM is now on show. Not yet 100% finished but we will complete it in the next few days. Of Norwegian design, the system was acquired for use on the Washington-Moscow hotline following the Cuban Missile Crisis. Not only this, the system found a home with the Canadians, the Royal Navy and NATO .. probably others too. Thanks to Frode Weierud and Jerry Proc for information relating to this system. Take a look at ... http://www.jproc.ca/crypto/etcrrm.html John Alexander Yes, the system was based on a patent by the lat col. Bjorn Rorholt, LA1GA, one time chief of the Norw. Joints Signals Administration. He was also a SOE agent during WW2 and has written a couple of books about his wartime experience. I dont think he ever produced an English version.
