Foreign Sec presents commemorative badges to Bletchley Park veterans

*FOREIGN  SECRETARY  TO  PRESENT  COMMEMORATIVE  BADGES  TO 
 BLETCHLEY  PARK  VETERANS*

*David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, will present Commemorative
 badges to Bletchley Park veterans at a ceremony on Friday 9th October*


The 35 veterans were selected by ballot from the 1500 plus applications 
for badges received by GCHQ so far.  The veterans are representatives of 
their colleagues and will be honoured for the vital role they all played 
working for the Government Code and Cypher School during the Second 
World War.

Director GCHQ, Iain Lobban, will host the presentation ceremony at 
Bletchley Park, the Second World War home of the Government Code and 
Cypher School.

**Due to the presence of UK intelligence officials, there will be no 
media filming or photography of the presentation ceremony, although 
audio recording is permitted.  Following the presentation there will be 
a media photo call for the Foreign Secretary and veterans at which 
filming and photography will be permitted.  GCHQ will make photographs 
of the ceremony available after the event.**
