06 Sep 2010 Second World War code machines displayed at Bletchley Park ---------------------------------------------------------- A collection of Second World War code machines went on display at Bletchley Park on Sunday. The collection included a rare German encryption machine - SGZ41 - created to defy Britain's Enigma code breakers which was loaned by the top secret GCHQ base in Cheltenham, Glos. Enigma code breakers gathered for a reunion at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, the forerunner to GCHQ. The site was the hub of code breaking during the war and many employees went on to work at the Cheltenham intelligence base. The SGZ41 cipher machine was created under the direction of the head of German intelligence, Admiral Canaris, during the conflict. He suspected the Enigma machines were being decrypted by the British and commissioned a man called Menzer to create an 'unbreakable' machine. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/defence/7982870/Second-World-War-code-machines-displayed-at-Bletchley-Park.html http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01708/bletchleySUM_1708858c.jpg
