Subject: Death of Richard Pendered, Shark codebreaker at Bletchley Park

There is an obituary of Richard Pendered in today's Daily Telegraph:

or if the above is too unwieldly, go via:

Pendered was one of the mathematicians recruited to the GC&CS codebreakers at
Bletchley Park in 1940. In Hut 8 he made major contributions to breaking the
German Navy's 4-wheel Enigma cyphers, known as "Shark" to the British. He is
also credited with decyphering a message that located the German battlecruiser
SCHARNHORST at sea, resulting in her destruction in the Battle of North Cape.
