The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature has conserved the
binomen Quetzalcoatlus northropi for a species of pterosaur that is the
largest known flying organism, by ruling that both the generic name
Quetzalcoatlus Lawson, 1975 and specific name northropi Lawson, 1975 are
available and take authorship from Lawson, 1975.
