Therefore, dinosaur-bear= ing rocks from this=0D=0Ainterval are of particular interest to vertebrate = palaeontologists. In this=0D=0Astudy, we report on one such locality from H= ighwood Pass, Alberta. This=0D=0Alocality has yielded a multitaxic assembla= ge, with the most diagnostic=0D=0Amaterial identified so far including anky= losaurian osteoderms and a turtle=0D=0Aplastron element. The fossil horizon= lies within the upper part of the=0D=0APocaterra Creek Member (PCM) of the= Cadomin Formation (Blairmore Group).=0D=0AThe fossils are assigned as Berr= iasian (earliest Cretaceous) in age, based=0D=0Aon previous palynomorph ana= lyses of the PCM and underlying and overlying=0D=0Astrata. The fossils lie = within numerous cross-bedded sandstone beds=0D=0Aseparated by pebble lenses= . These sediments are = indicative of a relatively high-energy depositional environment, and the di= stribution of these fossils over multiple beds indicates that they accumula= ted over multiple events, possibly flash floods. The fossils exhibit a rang= e of surface weathering, having intact-to-heavily-weathered cortices.
