Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate Special Qualifications: This spring school is recommended for participants who have completed at least an introductory course in linguistics. Description: The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad (Serbia) is delighted to invite you to take part in the 2nd International Spring School on Psycholinguistics, Neurolinguistics and Clinical Linguistics to be held at the University of Novi Sad on April 20-24, 2020. The Spring School is directed at graduate and advanced undergraduate students interested in learning about the neurocognitive foundations of language, about how to make their research ideas into concrete steps towards experimental designs, how to approach data collection and how to analyse data using experimental and statistical methods. The intensive short programme (40 hours) offers 2-hour sessions at two levels (introductory and advanced) in three interrelated disciplines, taught by experts from Denmark, France, Holland, Slovenia and Serbia. The following teachers and topics are confirmed: Introduction to linguistics - Srdjan Popov (University of Groningen, Holland) Stages in language acquisition - Mirjana Miric (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbia) Neuroanatomy for linguists I and II - Silvia Martinez Ferreiro (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) Clinical linguistics – Silvia Martinez Ferreiro (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) Visual word recognition - Dusica Filipovic Djurdjevic (University of Belgrade, Serbia) Information theory in psycholinguistics - Dusica Filipovic Djurdjevic (University of Belgrade, Serbia) Experimental methodology - Srdjan Popov (University of Groningen, Holland) Research methodology in language acquisition - Mirjana Miric (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbia) Theoretical approaches to language acquisition - Mirjana Miric (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbia) Neuroimaging - Christina Manouilidou (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) Hitchhiker’s guide to mixed-effect regression models I & II - Seckin Arslan (University Cote d’Azur, France) Programming experiments with PsychoPy - Seckin Arslan (University Cote d’Azur, France) Introduction to neuroimaging - Christina Manouilidou (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) Students who complete a minimum of 12 sessions are entitled to 3 ECT credits. The spring school is followed on April 25th 2020 by the 8th edition of the Novi Sad workshop in Psycholinguistic, Neurolinguistic and Clinical Linguistic Research at the same venue. Attendees of the Spring school are encouraged to submit an abstract for a (poster) presentation at the workshop.
