Re: What about the portal ?

I support this.  It has been a long time now that all the 'en' pages
have been redirected to en.wikipedia.org.  That domain is now well
established everywhere.  I believe that a language-neutral homepage is
long overdue.

Thomas, you have my support in a campaign to get this changed, but I'm
not going to just decree it and do it without there being a discussion
and perhaps vote on the look of the homepage.  There are a lot of
serious design challenges in putting together a language-neutral page,
and we want to do this in a thoughtful manner!

Please pass my support along to those on fr or other languages where
this issue may have been raised.  I really don't want people thinking
that I'm on the wrong side on this issue.  Wikipedia is a fully
international project.  It is about time the homepage reflects it!
