Hi, Bernardo. The English Wikipedia has a similar divide with British
and American English. I'm not familiar with the two flavors of
Portuguese, but the two flavors of English are close enough that we can
usually read one another's writing effectively, give or take some
spelling differences and various words that mean something entirely
different overseas. My understanding is that Canadian English is also
different, though I'm not sure I've ever encountered it.

The solution has been as this:

*Each article should be written using whichever version of English is
most appropriate for the topic. If it's about something more relevant to
Americans, we use American English. If it's more relevant to Europeans,
we use British English. Disputes still occur, but it's infrequent enough
with this highly effective system that it's not worth setting up a
second wiki.

Redundancy just makes things harder to improve and nearly always results
in one wiki being better or more comprehensive than the other, rendering
the second one virtually useless.

Good luck with resolving the matter,
Bob the Wikipedian

The existing Portuguese language Wikipedia is dominated by Brazilian variant of Portuguese language, and dominated by Brazilian users. So I request a Portuguese-Portugal Wikipedia in order to separate the two variants of Portuguese language, very different one from other, and seen as a patriotic question by Portuguese people.
