Get_it contacted me on IRC (a chat system) and proposed a new and up to date LanguagePt file. During August and September, avar, nikerabbit and I did a lot of updates to various languages files and Get_It proposal looked fine. I asked him what to do with the old file, and he told me it was more like portuguese-brazillian. We agreed to keep a copy of it as LanguagePT_br.php and used his file to update LanguagePt.php. We will keep the LanguagePt.php cause it is updated and almost complete. The LanguagePT_br.php is not used for any wiki, it just there to let some people customize their user interface messages (just like a french guy could use a spanish interface on the portuguese wiki). But LanguagePt.php is also the base for pt.wikipedia.org which seems to cause some troubles among the community. My proposal: Get_it did a good job on updating the file, its now technically up to date. The portuguese community can then discuss about the various messages and try to reach a consensus about what to put exactly in the file. Once you have agreed on a change, you can compile a new LanguagePt.php file and we will replace the actual one (and eventually delete LanguagePT_br.php if you want). cheers, -- Ashar Voultoiz - WP++++ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hashar http://www.livejournal.com/community/wikitech/ IM: hashar-/[email protected] ICQ: 15325080
