The Departments of Mathematics at the University of Primorska (FAMNIT and IAM) invite applications for a *postdoctoral researcher position in Cryptography* under the supervision of Prof. Enes Pasalic. The project aims to explore and strengthen the theoretical and practical relationships between special classes of functions — such as bent, plateaued, and almost perfect nonlinear (APN) functions — and the design of linear codes with prescribed properties useful for cryptography, including minimal, self-orthogonal, LCD and optimal codes. *The research focuses on:* Studying algebraic and combinatorial links between Boolean/vectorial functions and linear codes; Constructing new families of linear codes derived from known or newly designed functions; Analysing code parameters, weight distributions, and dual structures; *Conditions* *Duration: 1 yearStarting date: by April 2026 at the latest* Host: UP FAMNIT, University of Primorska, Slovenia Supervisor: Prof. Enes Pasalic *Deadline for application: November 10th 2025* *Requirements* PhD in Mathematics or a related field (obtained or expected before the start date); Research experience or strong interest in coding theory, Boolean and vectorial functions, finite fields, or computational algebra; Proficiency in computer algebra systems (Magma, SageMath, GAP) is highly desirable; Excellent written and spoken English. To apply, please email the following documents to [email protected] with the subject line "University of Primorska Postdoc 2025 - Enes Pasalic": Curriculum Vitae, Publication List, Research Statement, Copies of at most three recent papers or preprints, Names and e-mail addresses of two or three persons who can be contacted for reference (and who have agreed to be contacted).
