The research group *IntelligentTechnical Systems* (Lernende technische Systeme) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Ruhr University Bochum, is looking for a *Research Associate (postdoc or Ph.D. student)* to fill a *three-year* full-time position at the *earliest possible date*. The researcher will work on the development of robust and efficient *collective algorithmic recourse methods* to enhance the resilience of mission-critical networked systems. The project lies at the intersection of *machine learning, optimization, and multi-agent systems*, addressing challenges arising from resource volatility and uncertainty in dynamic environments. The work includes both *theoretical analysis*—covering efficiency, scalability, and convergence—as well as the *application* of the proposed methods to optimize networked systems. The position is part of a *DFG Priority Programme (SPP)*, which provides excellent opportunities for scientific exchange and networking. The successful candidate will have the chance to participate in project meetings, workshops, and joint programme events to further develop their expertise and build research connections. *Application deadline: 15 December 2025* Further information and application link: https://jobs.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/jobposting/0955dcb1fabab4848e3b13201429766b8fa0d8b90 ********************************************************** * * Contributions to be spread via DMANET are submitted to * * [email protected] * * Replies to a message carried on DMANET should NOT be * addressed to DMANET but to the original sender.
