Call for Papers Journal of Combinatorial Optimization

Special Issue: Recent applications, models and algorithms in 
Combinatorial Optimization

This special issue will present recent advances and challenges in all 
areas of Combinatorial Optimization. The issue will be based on 
contributions presented at the  ECCO XXXVIII Conference, May 8-10, 2025, 
but invitation to submit is extended to all  ECCO and CO members.

Deadline for submission: January 15, 2026

Main areas / topics of interest are (but not restricted to):
• Graphs and networks
• Mathematical programming
• Routing and scheduling
• Facility location
• Bioinformatics
• Exact methods
• Approximation algorithms
• Heuristics
• Metaheuristics
• Matheuristics

All articles will be thoroughly refereed according to the high standard 
of the Journal of Combinatorial Optimization.

Full papers must be submitted through the Springer Editorial System  
https://www.editorialmanager.com/joco/

Please see the Author Instructions on the site if you have not yet 
submitted a paper through this web-based system. Be sure to note that 
your work is intended for the Special Issue and to select the article 
type SI: ECCO 2025.

Accepted papers will be published online individually, before print 
publication.  We look forward to receiving your contribution.
