------------------------------------------------------------- Call for Nominations for the Richard Rado Prize 2026 ------------------------------------------------------------- The Discrete Mathematics Section of the German Mathematical Society is awarding a prize for outstanding dissertations in discrete mathematics for the 15th time. The nomination deadline is March 22, 2026 (see below). The announcement of the prize winner and the award ceremony will take place during the Discrete Mathematics Symposium 2026, which will be held in Vienna on October 9 and 10, 2026. The prize winner will be invited to this symposium to present their dissertation in a lecture. The decision regarding the award rests with a renowned international mathematician. Nominations may only be submitted by the dissertation supervisor; self-nominations are not permitted. Nominations are open to individuals who received their doctorate in Germany, Austria, or German-speaking Switzerland, or who hold such nationality, and whose dissertation on a topic in discrete mathematics was completed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025. A copy of the dissertation and a report (in English) from the supervisor must be included with the nomination. If the dissertation was written in German, please also include an English abstract.
