Research Fellowship in Combinatorics at the University of Birmingham

The School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham welcomes
applications for two research fellowships in Combinatorics to work
with Dr Eoin Long on the EPSRC funded New Investigator Award “A
high-dimensional approach to Ramsey Theory”.

The posts are available for a period of 12 months in the first
instance, with a possibility of further extension. The starting date
is 1 May 2026, though there is some flexibility here.

The successful candidates will join a community of researchers in the
Combinatorics group within the School of Mathematics, University of
Birmingham. The group consists of 7 permanent staff as well as many
postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers and has a proven
track-record in mentoring and supporting the development of
early-career researchers. The profile and research interests of the

Applicants should have a PhD in Mathematics awarded or submitted at
the time of taking up the position, a strong record of research and
publications and strong facility with techniques from both Extremal
and Probabilistic Combinatorics.
