Two open PhD positions at Goethe University

Dear colleagues,

The research group "Database technologies and Data Analytics" at Goethe 
University Frankfurt is recruiting 2 fully funded PhD students to join 
us on Distributed Knowledge Graph Management.

The project covers the intersection of:

* Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies
* Optimization Problems for Distributed Data Management

Location: Frankfurt (Main), Germany
Duration: 3 years
Expected start: As soon as possible

YOUR FUTURE TASKS

- Conducting research on RDF data management, ontology engineering und 
optimization independently and communicating research results
- Writing scientific papers and presenting them at top international 
conferences
- Supervising Master's/Bachelor's students
- Assisting with teaching activities


YOUR SKILLS

- An excellent completed Master degree in Computer Science or a related 
field
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: knowledge graphs, 
semantic technologies, ontology engineering and optimization algorithms
- Proven software engineering skills
- Excellent English skills, written and spoken; German language skills 
are highly beneficial
- Experience in writing scientific publications


ABOUT THE RESEARCH GROUP

We offer a productive research environment, in which you can discuss 
ideas with other team members working on related topics as well as the 
opportunity to contribute to related research projects.
Goethe University offers support for PhD students in the GRADE Center 
CompuMath.
Remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector 
(TV-G-U). The employment contract is initially limited to three years 
with optional extension.
