We are delighted to invite submissions for the Doctoral Consortium at the
37th British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC 2026), to take place during
BMVC 23rd-26th November 2026 in Lancaster, UK. The Doctoral Consortium will
provide a unique opportunity for PhD students who are within 6 months
(before or after) of graduating with their doctoral degree to interact with
experienced researchers in computer vision. Each student will be assigned a
mentor who is a senior member of the community attending the conference.
Students and mentors will attend the Doctoral Consortium event in person,
allowing students to discuss their ongoing research and career plans with
their mentors and give a short presentation as part of the consortium.

We invite submissions from PhD students conducting research in any area of
computer vision. Each accepted student will have the opportunity to present
their ongoing research, discuss future career plans with their mentor, and
ask questions to a career panel. The goal of the Doctoral Consortium is to
help students refine their research ideas and receive feedback on their
work in progress. This year, the Doctoral Consortium will also feature a
moderated career panel including academic, industrial, and early-career
researchers.

Submissions should consist of:

   - A (maximum) two-page abstract of the research the student will present
   at the Doctoral Consortium.
   - The student’s CV.
   - A letter from the student’s supervisor confirming their date of
   graduation.
   - A link to the student’s google scholar page.

Submission guidelines:

   - Abstracts should describe the research the student wishes to present
   and may include already-published or ongoing work.
   - The abstract submission should be formatted according to the BMVC 2026
   template, available on the conference website with a maximum of two-pages.
   - Submission to the Doctoral Consortium while also presenting a paper at
   the main conference is permitted.
   - The submission deadline is 21st August 2026 (AoE).

Selection process: Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of computer
vision experts. Selection will be based on the quality and potential impact
of the research, as well as the clarity and organisation of the abstract.

Important dates (all deadlines AoE):

   - Submission opens: Monday, 20th July 2026
   - Submission deadline: Friday, 21st August 2026
   - Notification of acceptance: Friday, 11th September 2026
   - Doctoral Consortium: Meet your Mentor Monday 23rd November, Main event
   Wednesday 25th November during BMVC 2026 (23–26 November 2026)
