Dear all,

The Algorithms Group at the University of Marburg is seeking a
postdoctoral researcher in algorithms and data structures, analysis of
algorithms, or algorithm engineering.
The position is funded by the EPSRC Project /Computing over Compressed
Graph-Structured Data/ [1].

This position is initially until December 2027 with the likely
possibility of an extension for 6 months.  Responsibilities include work
on the project, revolving around space-efficient data structures for graphs.
The application deadline is *16 August 2026*, via [2].

We offer an annual gross salary of at least €61,000 (TV-H E13 100%,
rises commensurate with experience [3]) and a generous travel budget.
German language are *not* required.  The official job advertisement is
in German, but English application materials are very welcome.

Documented expertise in one of the following topics is desirable for
this post:  succinct data structures, data compression, information
theory, analysis of algorithms, graph theory, discrete optimization,
data structure lower bounds, approximation algorithms, beyond-worst-case
analysis, algorithm engineering.
Strong candidates with the willingness to pivot into these areas are
encouraged to apply.

For informal inquiries, please feel free to contact me at Sebastian Wild

Marburg is a charming town with a vibrant medieval center and a young,
liberal population.  Located just one hour north of Frankfurt, it offers
convenient connections for international travel (which you can reach at
no extra cost using the state-wide free public transit pass included
with the post).

Best,
Sebastian
