KI 2012, the 35th German Conference on Artificial Intelligence, invites=20
tutorial proposals from all areas of AI, its fundamentals, and its=20
applications.

Together with the main conference, we aim at organizing a small number=20
of high-quality tutorials suitable for a large percentage of conference=20
participants, including experienced researchers, practitioners, and=20
students seeking to gain a better understanding of AI.

General Information
---------------------------
Tutorials will be free of charge for conference participants and will be=20
held at the first day of the conference. We are soliciting proposals for=20
full-day (6 hours) and half-day (3 hours) tutorials as well as=20
mini-tutorials (1h30). Tutorials should preferably be given in English.

The KI 2012 conference organizers will provide logistic support and=20
meeting places for the workshops as well as determine the dates and=20
times of the workshops.
Teaching material will be printed by the conference organization.=20
Volumes are limited to a total of 200 pages.

How to Propose a Tutorial
---------------------------
Tutorials should give a comprehensive, in-depth perspective on=20
innovative AI methods or technologies that have an obvious potential for=20
research and/or application and are not covered by typical AI textbooks.=20
Proposals for tutorials should be submitted to the tutorial chair,=20
Wolfgang Maass [[email protected]]. Prior contact with=20
the tutorial chair is encouraged.

Proposal texts should be submitted by e-mail to the Tutorial Chair in=20
pdf or plain text format. Annexes may be sent as .pdf, .ppt, or .doc=20
format. Each tutorial proposal should provide the following information:

- Descriptions of the tutorial topic, goals, the intended audience, an=20
outline of the contents,
- Necessary information to point out the importance, quality and=20
community interest in the proposed tutorial.
- Brief CVs of the tutor(s), including their expertise and teaching=20
experience in the field,
- The intended length of the tutorial (half-day, full- day, or=20
mini-tutorial).
- URL to tutorial web site

Proposers are encouraged to include excerpts of material from recent=20
teaching about the proposed topic as an annex of their submission, if=20
available.

The organizer(s) of approved tutorials will be responsible for=20
advertising their tutorial, e.g., via relevant newsgroups and electronic=20
mailing lists, and especially to potential audiences from outside the KI=20
conference community. Organizers are encouraged to maintain their own=20
web site with updated information about the tutorial.

Organizers (including co-organizers) are expected to attend their entire=20
tutorial and to provide a summary of the event, for presentation to=20
KI-2012 organisers.
