Hi All,

I am taking a slight break from my general exams readings
(procrastinating!). Any way I have been really happy so far with our
site and community so far. We now have over 100 articles. And a
*somewhat* active discussion list.

I was wondering what we need to do to go beyond just individual
consumption of articles? Is there a way for us to share our ideas and
thoughts across space and time?

How do we truly build a community of scholars?

One idea is to see what technology solutions are available for us to
build community - beyond just mailman.

So I found this intriguing opportunity
http://philip.greenspun.com/teaching/6171/client-questionnaire

Basically a bunch of smart MIT undergrads are looking for clients for a
Software Engineering of Internet Applications course. In particular
they want to "What's the spirit of the project? We're looking for
systems in which users interact with other users. An ideal project is an
online learning community in which the users share a common purpose and
the more experienced will answer questions from the less experienced."

So I thought maybe its a good idea to pursue this and see what happens.

But I am *really* strapped for time.... so if others on the list think
that this is a good idea --> and want to take the lead in interacting
with a team I would be happy to bless it.

This is an experiment -- so I do not promise that we will take what is
produced - but it maybe fun to see what gets developed and if it takes
off in our community.

Any thoughts?

I promise minimal involvement on my part (I have to graduate soon enough!)

Ciao

K
