I think that this is a great idea. If you go to any event or show, such as in information systems security, or linuxworld, etc. there are always 2 or3 persons touting "research" based on faulty survey techniques, extremely poor returns, very inane and poor questions, and then over reaching themselves in their conclusions. The quality of these "surveys" are 8th grade level. And it is harming our ability to tap the same audiences. The irony of these incidents is that they are taken seriously, and elaborately printed reports are sold for big bucks. Let us take the bull by the horns, in this case a dead bull, and create an annual survey of various groups in areas of interest to us. The raw data would be turned over to each of us for personal processing, and we could include each other as co-authors along already prescribed conventions. Michael
