Dear All, Fibonacci is the annual International Open Source magazine of the Student= s=E2=80=99 Forum for Free/Open Source Software running under Indian Insti= tute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior. This is being rele= ased in association with SUN Microsystems and National Resource Center FO= SS. The use of FOSS and FOSS based products deserve a special mention when it= comes to academia. FOSS stands as a promising movement for the up gradat= ion of education standards and knowledge sharing worldwide. In this first= edition of Fibonacci we salute the pioneering work done or being done in= the use of FOSS and FOSS based products in academia.
