The online interdisciplinary Journal Media/Culture has released a new issue titled "Open" edited by Felix Stalder and McKenzie Wark. It's designed to be more about the idea of "openness" than purely about Free and Open Source Software but most of the articles are about software. The feature article is called, "How Free Became Open and Everything Else Under the Sun," and is written by myself and Biella Coleman and it's the first released draft addressing a problem that Biella and I have been thinking and scribbling to each other about for the last year. There are a number of other articles on Free/Open Source software online there as well and some cool pieces exploring extensions of FOSS to other areas. The journal is available here: http://www.media-culture.org.au/0406/issue.html The feature article is here: http://www.media-culture.org.au/0406/02_Coleman-Hill.html Regards, Mako -- Benjamin Mako Hill [email protected] http://mako.yukidoke.org/
