We would like to invite you to

3rd European Robotics MDE Workshop at Leuven  (11-12.2.2013 - 10h to 17h)

This is the third in a series of workshops focused on Model Driven Engineering
as applied to Robotics.

The first theme of this workshop will be current state of meta models developed
in Europe and how to integrate the different meta models. The meta models
provide different meta models and supporting tooling for generating component
based software for robotic platforms.

The second theme for this workshop will devoted to the discussion of the
formation of collaborations and possible funding opportunities.

The third theme is the preparation for the workshop “European Robotics Modelling
Initiative ” at European Robotics Forum, 19-21 March 2013 in Lyon.

The program below is for the first day of the workshop. The second day is free
form and will be defined from the previous day experience.

Program

Welcome - Herman Bruyninckx and Hugo A. Garcia

Morning session: Topics for Concrete Collaboration - Herman Bruyninckx

- Christian Schlegel - Separation of roles: challenges for MDSD
- Christian Schlegel - SmartSoft MDSD and its transformations: Meta-Model, PIM,
PSM, PSI
- Hugo A. Garcia - Meta model interoperability via transformations.
- Herman Bruyninckx - Meta model of composition: modelling and deployment
- Saadia DHOUIB, Bruno Patin and Cyril Novales- Model of autonomous mobile
robots
- Saadia DHOUIB - M2T transformations in RobotML

Lunch

Afternoon - Herman Bruyninckx

- Preparation for the PPP Topic Group on Model Driven Robotics Software

- Model and generator repository: Is there a need to exchange meta models and
generator code? Is there a need to compare and assess different approaches? If
yes, how could such a repository look like? What should it contain?

- Which problems does our modeling approach (really) solve? Which problems
remain open? How do we write the software and in addition what software we
write. For instance is it possible to write robotic algorithms (e.g. navigation
algorithms) without mentioning details about sensors and actuators?
(We expect participants to suggest contributions [max 5 min each])

- Preparation for the European Robotics Forum Workshop - Hugo A. Garcia -
selection of the of the topics for the the ERF, and construction of preparatory
material on the workshop website.
